A staple of the festival for many years, hcmf// shorts has developed to become a full day of free-to-attend concerts showcasing the best in emerging musical talent. Every year, hcmf// shorts takes place on the Monday of the festival and brings in some of our largest audiences, providing performers with an amazing opportunity to play to packed venues.

As part of hcmf// shorts, the festival provides a mentoring programme which sees artists selected from each year’s open call receive support across all aspects of their professional development. These artists are also provided with a platform to perform at the festival, enhancing their professional experience in an international context.
