Young Conductors’ Day
Beginner and Further Experience Classes
For young people aged 12 – 18 years
Saturday 9 July, 2pm – 5pm
Heritage Quay, University of Huddersfield
FREE and no previous experience needed!
hcmf// continues its partnership with Heritage Quay, which houses the British Music Collection as well as the hcmf// archives.
This summer we will be bringing the archives to life through two conducting workshops! If you fancy your hand at directing an ensemble, come along and experts will guide you through the process. Complete beginners are welcome, as no previous experience is needed. We will also have a further experience class available for those of you who have honed some conducting skills already.
The workshops will be led by two incredibly talented conductors from the Royal Northern College of Music: Carlos Ágreda and Tom Goff. Participants will have the chance to conduct a brass ensemble or a string quartet using music sourced from the British Music Collection.
The workshops are FREE but require you to book in advance. Places are limited so reserve yours at conductingday.eventbrite.co.uk
