OptoAkustisches ReiseInstrumentarium 30’ UK Premiere
RaumZeitPiraten bring together sound, image, movement and kinetic objects in OptoAkustisches ReiseInstrumentarium, an open-ended audiovisual system where every element can become both an instrument and an interface.
Highly sensitive pickups capture microscopic vibrations from kinetic sculptures and transform them into fragile, raw sonic material. Rotating objects set steel strings in motion, triggering synthetic sounds, light and digital image processes, while light sensors generate fragmented rhythms and sound activates moving apparatuses. As each element responds to another, feedback loops emerge and continuously reshape the performance.
At the centre of the work, a glowing circular disc becomes a space where analogue and digital image worlds appear, overlap and dissolve. Found-object shadow projections meet digitised and spatialised images, while visual traces of the instrumentarium permeate their own image-producing processes, forming an unfamiliar, post-digital experience.
Improvised and constantly in motion, OptoAkustisches ReiseInstrumentarium creates an unstable, playful world of chance, transformation and unexpected connections — a constantly re-forming meeting point between the analogue, the digital and the acoustic.
