Now everything is different (2024) 30’ UK Premiere
Santoor player, improviser and composer Atefeh Einali and visual artist Nikta Mohammadi co-devised Indefinite Dreams: I am alive! as an audiovisual performance responding to the theme of the bed as a site of journey and a migrant’s only home. It incorporates Mohammadi’s moving image work and Einali’s live compositions on santoor to form a reconstructed dream state with ethereal imagery and diverse musical language.
Sound artist and composer Claudia Molitor combines field recordings, electronics, piano, visuals and songs from her album Have you ever (nonclassical) in this performance, contemplating the nature of change. Change – be it personal, social or political – can be challenging, hopeful and liberating in equal measures. Here, Molitor posits that these are ultimately necessary sensations if we truly strive for a kinder, more equal and liveable world.
