Perform at the UK’s leading festival of new music
hcmf// shorts is a series of short informal performances which will take place on Monday 19 November 2018 in various venues across Huddersfield. hcmf// shorts takes place on Free Monday, which is the busiest day of the Festival with an average of 2000 visitors each year. The day provides emerging artists with a valuable platform to perform for members of the public, media and key music industry representatives within a programme of events also featuring established artists.
The shorts call is open to UK-based performers, who will have the opportunity to receive professional mentoring as part of the hcmf// shorts scheme. We will offer five successful applicants a grant to supplement travel and accommodation expenses.
Proposals are welcomed from all types of performers, included but not limited to solo performers, ensembles, electro-acoustic, performance, sound or noise artists, and works can be especially composed or existing pieces. There are no age limits. Proposed programmes should be no longer than 20 minutes in duration.
