We’ve just announced a series of talks taking place at hcmf// 2020. We’re doing things slightly differently this year; in a collaboration with SPARC and CeReNeM, we’ve taken a ‘hands-off’ approach, curating three artist to artist talks, minus the moderation. There are no hosts, no questions and no themes – instead, we’ve asked our artists to improvise a little, to discuss the similarities and differences found in their music.

Our Artist to Artist// In Conversation series involves six incredible artists at vastly different stages of their careers. Sound artist and experimental pioneer Annea Lockwood talks to emerging composer Auclair. One of the world’s most prominent trombonists, composers and improvisers, George E. Lewis talks to turntablist and curator Mariam Rezaei. Our third and final conversation features two composers interested in adaptation and augmentation, Clara Iannotta and Cassandra Miller.
