In light of the government’s announcement that the UK will enter a month-long national lockdown from Thursday 5 November, we have reluctantly had to cancel the two installations that were programmed as part of hcmf// 2020 (Georgia Rodgers and Memorial of Rebellion).

Whilst we’re disappointed we won’t be able to deliver these in-person events, the safety of our artists, staff and audiences obviously has to come first.

We’re extremely grateful to Georgia Rodgers, Brigitta Muntendorf and Michael Höppner, and would like to recognise the time that these amazing artists have spent preparing their installations, as well as their willingness to put together such brilliant work under precarious circumstances. We’re committed to presenting their sound installations and they will now take place as part of hcmf// 2021.

On the positive side, there’s still plenty to come from our alternative edition hcmf// 2020, including three BBC Radio 3 broadcasts, as well as a weekend of live streams, podcasts and talks. We look forward to sharing a packed three days of music with you very soon.
