Yrttitarha (2022) World Premiere (Installation version)
Yrttitarha is a concert-installation presented in multimedia form for the first time at hcmf// 2024. From intimate sounds and details to large humming greenhouses, the piece presents different sides of growing, taking the themes of care towards both oneself and others as its starting point.
During the festival, the caretaker of the herb garden is absent, yet the garden remains open – the survival of the herbs is left to the audience. The audience is invited to enter the garden: to water the plants, to speak kindly to them, and to take care of the herbs.
Yrttitarha will open and close with live performances by composer/performer Tytti Arola on Saturday 16 November and Thursday 21 November.
