A new, three-year partnership between hcmf// and Music Finland will provide a focus on Finnish music at the UK’s largest festival of new and experimental music, beginning at our 2024 edition this November.
The partnership will offer the opportunity for Finnish composers and musicians to develop networks, form new collaborations and have their works presented on the international stage.
Work from Finland will be threaded throughout hcmf//, ranging from sound art and noise to cross-genre and including improvisation, electronic music and compositional works for soloists and ensembles. Featured artists from the Finnish new music scene will be profiled across the next three editions of the festival.
hcmf// Artistic Director Graham McKenzie will visit Tampere Biennale in April, where he will begin conversations with artists around ideas for future collaborations.
