Music at Play: online educational video series for babies and toddlers

As part of our Music at Play programme, hcmf// is proud to present an online series of educational videos to be used by families and professionals working with children aged 5 and under.

Starting in the Autumn term, hcmf// will release two videos a week (one for babies and another for toddlers) which will introduce viewers to new songs and activities put together by creative education practitioners Jess Baker and Satnam Galsian. The videos include memorable multi-lingual songs, relaxing music and introductions to new instruments, and the activities are designed to be simple enough to learn and use in your own home as well as in Early Years provider settings.

As the series develops, the activities will be repeated and built upon to enable learning and understanding of the material. The videos have been created with both children and their carers in mind, so they are easy to follow, use very few resources and are, above all, very enjoyable! The repertoire includes a mix of modern songs for children, classical and folk music from the subcontinent and some old favourites.

The baby series is intended for newborns up to young toddlers, and in general these videos contain relaxing and sensory-led material. The toddler series is for more active toddlers and preschool-aged children, and include action-led songs as well as introducing music theory.
